LAHOA is proud to announce a new partnership! In an effort to increase the value of your LAHOA membership, we have partnered with the National Association of Sports Officials. The National Association of Sports Officials (NASO) is the world’s largest organization dedicated to supporting and representing sports officials across all sports and skill levels. NASO provides education, advocacy, and comprehensive liability and assault protection.
Core Services and Benefits
NASO exists to elevate the officiating profession and ensure referees have the tools they need to perform safely and professionally:
- Legal and Insurance Protection: Members are enrolled in the Sports Officials Security (SOS) program, which includes substantial errors and omissions liability insurance as well as physical assault protection.
- Education and Training: The association offers extensive training materials and is closely affiliated with Referee, a leading publication for sports officials.
- Advocacy: NASO works to recruit and retain officials, and it advocates legislatively for laws that increase penalties for assaulting sports officials.
- Member Perks: Members receive exclusive discounts on gear, services, and hotel stays (such as the Marriott Athletic VIP Card).

Current NASO members can re-enroll with LAHOA for a better rate. Please use this link to do so: https://join.naso.org/NAS/?f=RenewLAHOA. Those members will be sent refund checks for any amount remaining on their account/individual membership that is over $20. If it’s under $20, it will simply stay in their account.
